Assurant Employee Benefits Offers Shorter Duration Voluntary LTD Plans
For added flexibility that meets both employer and employee needs, Assurant Employee Benefits is now offering 2- and 5-year plan duration options with its voluntary long-term disability (LTD) coverage. These plans include a choice of 30, 90 or 180 day elimination periods to provide employers with more flexibility in selecting the needed level of coverage.
The new plans, which provide additional coverage and pricing options, offer good value and meaningful benefits. Limited duration plans can provide a financial safety net that allows the time employees need to return to work or adjust to lifestyle changes that accompany disability. They can also help bridge a financial gap before Social Security Disability benefits are awarded.
The shorter duration plans are available when a regular occupation/any occupation definition of disability is selected. All other features of the coverage match those of Assurant Employee Benefits’ traditional “to age 65” voluntary LTD plan.
