Assurant AnswersTM resonates with insureds seeking assistance with common problems
A collection of non-insurance benefits built into Assurant Employee Benefits’ group term life and long-term disability policies is proving to be popular with many insureds a year after its introduction.
Assurant AnswersTM, which Assurant Employee Benefits launched last September, increases the value of group coverages by helping address common concerns of working adults including financial stress, the demands of caring for elderly family members or those with disabilities, and the need to prepare for the future. The benefits, included with policies for new customers at no additional cost, are provided through third-party vendors. Financial counseling services and disability/elder care resources are included with long-term disability insurance; will preparation services are built into term life insurance.
The services have been well-received by employer groups who have obtained positive feedback from insured employees since adding Assurant Employee Benefits’ disability and/or life coverage. The appreciation of extra benefits at no added cost is consistent with a current trend toward heightened awareness of employee benefits a result of the current economy.
While insureds may never need to file a long-term disability or life claim with Assurant Employee Benefits, the services available through Assurant AnswersTM enable them to make use of their insurance coverages regardless. They also raise awareness and appreciation of the life and disability coverages employers provide. And, because the services offer solutions to everyday problems that can impact productivity, both insureds and employers can benefit.
