Assurant Employee Benefits Names Joseph A. Sevcik as Vice President-Marketing

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — (Aug. 20, 2007) — Assurant Employee Benefits, a leading provider of ancillary group employee benefits based in Kansas City, Mo., has announced the appointment of Joseph A. Sevcik as vice president – marketing, effective Sept. 1, 2007. He replaces Mark J. Bohen, who has been named to the newly formalized position of senior vice president, marketing, at Assurant, Inc., the parent company of Assurant Employee Benefits.

In his new position, Sevcik will report to John Roberts, interim chief executive officer, Assurant Employee Benefits. He will have responsibility for the execution of a customer-driven business strategy to increase market share in Assurant Employee Benefits' core business segment and shared responsibility for product development. Sevcik previously served as second vice president – voluntary marketing.

Prior to joining the company in 2005, Sevcik had responsibilities in product development, advertising and client segmentation at H & R Block. Prior to that, he developed expertise in customer marketing, strategic development and consumer and trade advertising execution of key product brands while employed at Hallmark Cards, Inc.

Sevcik earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. He currently serves on the group insurance marketing committee of LIMRA International.

Sevcik resides in Overland Park, Kan.
