Brokers can now manage their business with Assurant Employee Benefits' Online Advantage
Online tool makes it easy for brokers to more efficiently manage group business
Assurant Employee Benefits has expanded and enhanced its web-based Online Advantage service to allow brokers, dental plan members and dental care providers to more efficiently manage their business and insurance plan information.
The service was initially offered exclusively to employers as an administrative tool.
“Employers still have the ability to conduct online enrollments and access other services online,” said Phil Culbertson, vice president of customer relations. “With the new functionality we've added, whether you're a broker wanting to manage policies, a dental plan member wanting to check the status of a claim or a dental provider wanting to check benefit details, Online Advantage will be a quick, smart and convenient way to take care of business.”
For brokers, access to Online Advantage gives them the ability to view the policies and commissions in their Assurant Employee Benefits block of business. Users also can choose to be notified via email when a policy is coming up for renewal, when commissions are paid and when new cases become effective.
Other new features of Online Advantage include access for dental plan members to view plan eligibility, check the status of claims, request replacement ID cards or copies of Explanation of Benefits statements, and to search for a dentist. Members now have access to an “Ask a Dentist” feature designed to help them become more knowledgeable and make better decisions about their dental health care. Questions submitted online are answered by a certified dentist. Another new feature is the “fee cost estimator” which can help members determine approximately how much a particular dental procedure will cost before the procedure is performed.
Dental care providers can view plan eligibility or benefit details, search for another network dentist or specialist for referrals, check on the status of a claim, or request an Explanation of Benefits.
