Warrington Joins Senior Management Team at Assurant Employee Benefits

Track record of sales success, coaching ability cited

KANSAS CITY , Mo. – Marc Warrington has been named senior vice president of sales for Assurant Employee Benefits.

Warrington , 38, was promoted from the position of vice president of sales, where he directed the company's East Coast sales offices. Serving in that position since 2003, he also trained sales representatives, brokers, and employers across the country on the company's products and services. In his new position, Warrington will be responsible for the company's entire sales force and overall sales efforts.

“I am very interested in continuing our evolution out of the traditional group insurance mold,” Warrington said. “Brokers have begun to view Assurant Employee Benefits as a true partner that contributes to their bottom line and overall business, not just a supplier of insurance. I want to continue that momentum, and push it to move even faster.”

Warrington 's tenure with the insurance industry dates back to 1989. He joined Assurant in 1996 as district sales director in the company's Orange County , Calif. , sales office, where he increased the territory's annual production from $375,000 to $4 million in less than 24 months. He was named regional sales director of the Houston sales office in 1999, and regional sales manager later that year. In 2001, he was named regional vice president, and in 2003 moved to Kansas City to accept the position of vice president of sales. In 2004 Warrington accepted responsibility for Assurant's MVP program, which provides support and stronger relationships with brokers who incorporate Assurant Employee Benefits' principles for customer relationship development and customer service.

Warrington and his wife, Laura, live in Overland Park , Kan. , with their children Abbey, 8, and Charlie, 6. He is a graduate of Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in economics.
