Fred Cook to Lead California Sales Offices for Assurant Employee Benefits
New vice president of sales brings 18 years of experience to the California territory
SAN FRANCISCO – Assurant Employee Benefits has named Fred Cook as the vice president of sales.
Cook has been in the employee benefits field since 1987. He joined Assurant Employee Benefits in February 1993 as a sales representative in the Sacramento sales office and was named sales manager in Sacramento in 1995. Two years later, he was promoted to regional sales manager and regional vice president. In 2003, Cook took the dual role of sales manager in San Francisco as well as the regional vice president for California.
As vice president of sales, he is responsible for the Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County/San Diego and Sacramento sales offices.
In his new position, Cook intends to concentrate on providing leadership and mentoring for the sales force.
“I want to focus on the coaching and development of our sales managers and sales representatives,” Cook said. “I look forward to Assurant Employee Benefits being referred to as a premier carrier in my region and achieving a high level of success.”
Cook is a graduate of the University of California-Berkeley. He and his wife, Ann, live in Sacramento with their daughter, Madeline. In his spare time, Cook enjoys camping, playing basketball and golf.
