Alan Mayer to Lead Kansas City Sales Office of Assurant Employee Benefits
New sales manager, and former KC Comets player, has 16 years insurance experience
KANSAS CITY , Mo. – Assurant Employee Benefits has named Alan Mayer sales manager for its Kansas City Group Sales Office.
Mayer brings to Assurant Employee Benefits 16 years insurance industry experience in the Kansas City area. Most recently, he was with Mutual of Omaha, where he doubled his in-force block of business in just five months. He also has insurance sales experience with Canada Life, Provident, Phoenix , and UNUMProvident.
Mayer's territories will include Kansas , Nebraska , the western half of Missouri , northern Arkansas , and northern Oklahoma .

Mayer graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg , Va. He was a professional soccer player for 18 years, the last five years of which he played for the Kansas City Comets. He was an assistant coach for the Kansas City Wizards for four years.
Mayer currently lives in Lenexa , Kan. , with his wife Kathy. They have been married for 29 years and have three children: Kenny, 23; Kristi, 19; and Kellie, 16.
